Welcome to Fortuna High School.  Let me introduce myself.  My name is Kevin Scheffler and this is my second year as principal of FHS.  I absolutely love working with the students, staff, and community in the sunny city of Fortuna.  I have been working in education for 15 years, with 7 of those years in administration, and I have to say this is the most rewarding experience I’ve had.

Fortuna High School is an amazing place.  We are a comprehensive high school program, offering a full range of core academic classes, a wide variety of electives, a comprehensive athletics program, and numerous clubs and student organizations.  There is “something for everyone” available at Fortuna High.

 A few highlights of the offerings available through FHS would have to include the Agriculture program, the Auto Shop, the Art Department, numerous Athletic teams, AP classes…and that’s just the A’s.  There are too many options to list here, so explore our developing web pages or stop by the office for more information.

FHS continues on our journey working in Professional Learning Communities.  Our focus is on developing and refining departmental common standards and assessments, student data analysis, and cross curricular collaboration.  We strive to deliver the best curriculum possible while offering a range of intervention strategies for those students who need additional support.  Our work in the Fortuna Learning Communities (FLC) has developed strong departmental teams with a real student centered focus.
